November 27th

I have someone following my blog!! I am so exctied. Can't wait for comments. I have a ton of paper to get through, but it's all from just the last week. Nothing too old. Expect for me of course.

"Modern Family"
Have you watched this show? You have to. It's one of the funniest shows that I have seen in a long time. My hubby wouldn't watch it with me at first and now is hooked. It just started last year, this year it's only getting stronger. Catch it if you can. It's 30 minutes out of your day. Wednesday nights at 8 central time.

"DWTS"
Didn't watch it once this season. But just wanted to give a shout out to the 50 year old Jennifer Grey. She has once again proved to the world that "Nobody puts Baby in a corner."

"Thank you Craig Wilson"
Just a small artical in the USA Today by Craig Wilson from the 24th. He and a neighbor came up with an idea that I for one am all for, Christmas comes only every five years.
I love it!! We all put ourselves through so much stress every year. For what? For the perfect gift? How many cookie exchanges can I fit in? Which family to go see. Can we fit two christmas's in on one day. Seriously. I am with Craig when he says "why don't we all just take a breather? Sing a carol or two, wear red, drink eggnog, then call it a holiday."
The Way I see it, I am all for that!!! Unlike Craig I do have kids, but I still think this is a great idea. We still have our birthday's, Easter, Valentines day, Mothers day, Fathers day, Flag day, Arbor day, all the other ones I am missing.
I don't like hanging stuff on my fridge, but this is one thing that is going up there.

"Two votes for Mom of the year and one for Step Dad of the year"
I am going to combine three articals on this one. Where the hell do these people come from?
This is from the St. Paul Pioneer Press from the 11th.(I know more then a week old sorry. Found it in my folder). Get ready to swear and want to punch things. Robin Boxer is 25 years old, she has been charged with five counts of terroristic threats. She "allegedly threw her 4 year old son to the floor, pushed on her 7 year old son's eyes and then threatened to kill everyone in the house. AND she is 8 1/2 months pregnate. The way I see it, this is not raging hormones this is just rage.
To make sure that everyone was included in these threats she said that she was going to punch the baby in the face as soon as it was born.
I listen to a talk radio station in Minneapolis and one of my favorite sound bites they play fits into this story, "Could be a crack head!"
The grandmother called 911 on Saturday. She said she was afraid for her great-grandchildern's safety ( The way I see it, afraid for thier lives.) because of the abuse that was happening to them. When the police got to the house it was the Grandmother and Boxer's three sons and an 11 year old cousin.
The grandmother called 911 when the four year old told her that Robin had pushed on his brothers eyes. When the Great grandma asked Robin what she was doing that is when she grabbed the little guy from the couch and threw him to the floor. At this point Robin told the grandmother that the kids were not hers and that when this new baby was born she was going to punch it in the face and throw it around.
The three kids backed up what the grandmother had said. As if that is not bad enough the kids also told police that she threatened to burn the house down, and kill everyone. This is so sad and makes me so freaking mad.
When asked by the police about the claims her family was making she said that everyone was lying. Of course. When questioned about the things she said about the unborn baby, her come back was "It's a free country. I can say whatever I want." No-contact orders have been issued prohibiting Boxer from having contact with her grandmother, two of her children and the cousin. The way I see it we should simply put her in a padded room in a straight jacket.
Mom of the year number two. Susan Stevens was just trying to pick up her son from school. Normal thing to do right? Except she was drunk and her license had been canceled due to other drunk-driving convictions.
Last December she was pulled over with her son in the car and a blood alcohol level 5 times over the legal driving limit. Monday she was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in the parking lot of the elementary school her son attends. Her son was not in the car yet. She has been charged with second-degree refusal to submit to a test, third-degree driving under the influence of alcohol, driving in violation of a restricted license, driving after cancelation AND open bottle.
Susan has also been convicted of drunking driving in 2009,1998,1994 and 1987. She is currently still on probabtion for the 2009 case. This probation was for two years and had conditions on it, one of which that she abstain from drinking and sunmit to random testing. How is this working out for our system? How many times is it going to take for her to simply not be allowed to drive? The way I see it perhaps not even allowed in a bar or liqour store. Is it going to take her to kill someone while drinking and driving for anyone to do anything to this women?
On Monday an officer recognized her when she drove past him near the school. He knew that her license was canceled. She stopped in the fire lane in front of the school. The officer approached the car and opened the driver's side door but Ms.Stevens wouldn't even look at the officer. Once the door was open the officer could smell alcohol and thought heard Ms. Stevens say "No, not here, not here." There was a soda bottle with alcohol found in the car. What the hell lady? Maybe you should have thought of that before you had that drink. What are you doing drinking anyway?! More importantly what are you doing driving? TO PICK UP YOUR SON!!!!
She somehow made a $12,000.00 bail. Why are they letting her out on bail in the first place? Look at this women's record! The way I see it she should have been placed in rehab and not be able to come within 20 feet of a car and kept even further from her son.
Tylar Hokanson has been convicted in the 2009 shaken-baby death of his 17 month old son. Mandatory life, 30 years of which are to be served before he can be considered for parole. Really, he can be considered for parole? Why? The way I see it someone should just shake this guy to death.
This little guy Nicolas, suffered for days before he died. He suffered with a bleeding brain, a broken back and crushed lungs.
The jury that acquitted Hokanson of one count each of first and second degree murder during third degree assault on a child. They deliberated about 31 hours. What took that long? They feel that justice has been served. Okay, the guy is doing life. This coward killed a baby. And these people feel like a life sentence is justice? Let's not forget that he will be able to considered for parole after 30 of those years have been served. His is only going to be 54 years old in 30 years. If little Nicolas had lived he would be 30 years old if Hokanson is let out on parole.
The Assistant County attorney told jurors that Hokanson violently shook the baby on the 19th of June 2009 and then prevented medical care that could have stopped this little boy from dying a slow and I am sure painful death over the next 4 days. 4 DAYS!!
Hokanson said that he kept the fact that he had hurt the baby because he was afraid of what his own stepfather would do him. Really? So, does this mean that he was beaten by his stepdad or does his stepdad just know right from wrong. Before they took him to his cell perhaps we should have let the stepfather loose on Hokanson. Just a thought.
What about the other people that are involved. The ones who knew Nicholas was hurting you can't for one minute tell me that this little guy was not in pain. I know that a 17 month old has a limited vocabulary, but he I am sure was trying to tell Mom that he was hurt.
Multiple injuries were found on Nicholas. He had five broken ribs from Hokanson squeezing him around the rib cage. Oh, wait there is more. After the autopsy found two collar-bone fractures, broken ribs, bleeding brain, broken spine, crushed lungs, fractured arms and ruptured bowel among other injuries. How can anyone not want to or just simply cry reading this?
They also tell us that Hokanson's 7 year old daughter was a witness said that she saw her dad push down Nicholas.

"Marjorie Congdon Hangen"
In 1977 a woman named Marjorie Caldwell, was charged with aiding and abettting a murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the smothering death of her mother, heiress Elisabeth Congdon, and the blundgeoning death of ther mother's nursem Belma Pietila at the Glensheen manison in Duluth.
Elisabeth Congdon adopted Marjorie. In return she was killed. I have been through this mansion that is in Duluth Minnesota, if you ever get the chance go. It's amazing. Go in the spring and see the gardens. Tragedy aside this mansion and the grounds are simply breath taking. The story and history is worth your time.
Now, back to Miss. Marjorie. This women has been hurting people her whole life. At the time of the murders her then husband was charged and convicted on two counts of first-degree murder and was given two life sentences. His conviction was over turned in 1982 by the Minnesota Supreme Court. He was set to be retried, but pleaded guilty. He was released in 1988 and the committed suicide.
In 1984, Marjorie was arrested for burning down her house and did 21 months in prison for an arson and insurance fraud convition. In 1991 Marjorie and then husband Wally Hagen lived in Ajo,Ariz. She was accused of trying to burn down a neighbor's home. She was convicted of attempted arson, but was allowed to go home before reproting to prison to make arrangement for her husband who at the time was 84. Can ya smell the mistake? The day after her conviction, Mr.Hagen was found dead of a pill overdose. Police said they believe that Mr.Hagen was exposed to natural gas from the kitchen stove piped through a garden hose. There was a murder charge against Marjorie, but it was dropped due to lack of evidence. There are books out there that can fill you in on what this woman has done over her life. I have read them. Even if I didn't live in Minnesota or know about the mansion. I would have picked them up and read them.
Anyway, I am typing about this because a judge in Arizona has refused to remove intensive probabation conditions placed on Marjorie in a forgery case that happened more then 30 years ago this was after she was aquitted in one of Minnesota's most notorious murders. Okay, in March of 2009 at the ripe age of 78 Marjorie was placed on three years' intensive probabtion after she pled guitly to attempted forgery. She had endorsed and depostied an $11,000.00 check into a back account she shared with a man the day after he died in 2007. She then tried to transfer the funds into her own account.
She wanted the probation to be lifted so she could be admittted into a nursing home. Defense Atttorney Brick Storts (Brick? Really?) told Judge Munger that Hagen can't get into a nursing facility while on probation. The way I see it, she got what she had coming.
I wonder if she also killed the man she was sharing the bank account with. How many more victims are out there that we don't know about. What kind of trouble could she have done while in the nursing home?

" REALLY? I Mean Really?"( Novemeber 26th fro the Star Tribune)
Dennis Gaede a prison inmate who is serving a life sentence for killing and dismembering a Wisconsin man in 2001 filed a fedral lawsuit over his medical treatment. The State officals have said he has no basis for his claim.
Gaede cracked a tooth. He requested a root canal and crown but the tooth was pulled. He claimed that this was in violation of his constitutional rights regarding cruel and unusual punishment. Mr. Gaede, the way I see it I think the cruel and unusual punishment happened when you killed and dismembered your victim.

That's it for today. Lots of doubled up copies of papers. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.
